Does the content of the pages I open leave my browser?
No. Laylo reads the page in your browser and draws the SharePoint version right there, in the same tab. Its text, pictures and links are never sent to our servers or to anyone else.
What do you receive, then?
Your email address when you sign in, and your sign-in token when the app checks which plan you have. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and we don't sell or share your data.
Where are my recordings kept?
In the extension's storage on your computer, until you save them as files in your downloads folder. Removing the extension deletes everything it stored.
Why does the extension ask to read every website?
Because it can show any site you open as SharePoint. It only reads a page when you turn the view on, when the floating controls are on, or while the Layout Maker follows the tab.
Using Laylo
Which browsers does it work in?
Laylo works in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Choose your browser for installation instructions.
Do I need a SharePoint tenant or a Microsoft 365 account?
No. Laylo draws the SharePoint look itself, and its exports open in any browser. Nothing is created in a tenant.
Does it work on every website?
On most. Sites built on news, pictures and links work best. Pages behind a sign-in work too, since Laylo reads what your browser already shows.
Can I turn the result into a real SharePoint site?
Not yet. Laylo makes demos and previews. The ZIP export lists every part of the page and where it went, which helps whoever builds the real site.
Plans and billing
What is the Pro pack?
The templates that come with Pro, on top of the free ones. They load when you're signed in to a plan that includes them, and new ones arrive without updating the extension.
What's free?
The live view, every free site and page template, the older SharePoint versions and the themes. Pro adds the Pro pack, the Layout Maker, the scan page, exports and stamps.
Can I get a refund?
If Laylo doesn't work for you, write to us. The refund rules will be in the terms of use before paid plans open.
Do you send invoices with VAT?
Payments are not open yet. When billing launches, invoices and company VAT details will be handled by our payment partner.
Microsoft and trademarks
Is Laylo made by Microsoft?
No. Laylo isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft. Microsoft 365 and SharePoint are trademarks of the Microsoft group of companies.
Does Laylo use Microsoft's images or code?
No. The SharePoint look is drawn with Laylo's own styles and icons. Some templates follow the layouts of SharePoint's look book and of the community's open-source portal templates, which each template names.
